Developer plans to revive former GM plant in Richland County

Solon-based Industrial Commercial Properties LLC (ICP) “recently inked an option agreement” to buy the former General Motors stamping plant 270-acre Ontario property, Crain’s Cleveland reports. Ontario City Council approved the first sale of 6 acres and the only remaining building from the plant. ICP’s first tenant, Charter Next Generation, a manufacturer of plastic films for food packaging and other applications, “will lease the 45,000-square-foot former ‘press prep’ building,” according to the article. The company expects to move about 50 employees to that site in March. ICP has been talking with city officials, JobsOhio and Team NEO “about avenues to promote and pay for the project,” which could qualify for JobsOhio’s Ohio Site Inventory Program.
