Venture capital investments rebound in Ohio

A recent report by the National Venture Capital Association and PricewaterhouseCoopers indicates that venture capital investments in Ohio have grown during the last two years and that the total amount of money invested during the first quarter of this year "was the highest quarterly total in a decade" with Ohio receiving 14 venture capital deals worth $122.7 million, the Springfield News-Sun reports. Based on data from Thomson Reuters, the report indicates that Ohio is displaying a more positive trend than what is occurring on the national level, which industry experts credit to programs implemented by the state that "provide effective resources and funding to entrepreneurs" to help them develop their business plans and become attractive to venture capitalists, the article said.
